Solar Upgrade, WW2 Submarine and Packer Football

August 1-31, 2017 — This was a relaxing month with minimal travel while touring the local sights and doing a few upgrades on the RV. We started in Green Bay, WI and ended in Weston, WI. Only one night was spent at a pay site at a casino due to warm weather. The entire rest of the month was boondocking at casinos, Walmart and street/driveways of friends and family. Our intent was to move west the last week of the month but that changed due to family illness. We didn’t have firm plans moving forward so it was not an issue to stay put for an extended time.

Wood carving on display at the Wisconsin Maritime Museum in Manitowoc, WI.

USS Cobia Submarine at the Wisconsin Maritime Museum in Manitowoc, WI.

Beautiful view of Lake Michigan from the Mariners Trail connecting Manitowoc and Two Rivers, WI.

Former bed frame repurposed into a battery box for the RV.

An empty bin. This was the last of the bins full of photos and papers that we scanned and uploaded to the cloud. Felt terrific to have that job behind us!

Green Bay Packers practice field. Spent a morning watching our favorite sports team practice then enjoyed lunch in the Lambeau Field Atrium.

Green Bay Packer scrimmage at the practice facility next to Lambeau Field in Green Bay, WI. Aaron Rodgers is in the red jersey leading the offense.

Steps leading to Lambeau Field. Looks similar to the steps at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington D.C.

National Railroad Museum in Green Bay, WI. $12 entrance fee for the museum and train ride. Well worth the money!

More power! Added two more 100 watt solar panels to the roof of our Vegas.

While working on the roof we swapped out the cheap bathroom fan with a multi-speed Maxxair Fan. Much nicer!

Vent cover for the new Maxxair fan. Looks like our roof is getting full!
