Wildlife Sanctuary, Flour Mills and Camel Racing

July 1-31, 2017 — This was our first official complete month of full-time RV living after selling and closing on our home June 23. The month took us from Green Bay, WI to Minneapolis, MN and back as we enjoyed extended time with friends and family. Overnight stays included city and county parks, a casino, Cabela’s, and street/driveway parking. We spent multiple nights at the city and county parks due to warm weather and our desire to have air conditioning.

Marathon Park Wausau, WI. A county park in central Wisconsin with huge pine trees.

Boondocking at a Wisconsin casino.

Summertime fresh fruits and vegetables. Cauliflower and broccoli salad, carrot sticks and a mixed berry smoothie. Yum!

Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary Green Bay, WI

Gateway State Trail in Minnesota between Stillwater and St. Paul. Great place for a bike ride.

Saint Anthony Falls and the Stone Arch Bridge over the Mississippi River in Minneapolis, MN. Photo taken from the former Gold Medal Flour Mill building that now houses the Mill City Museum.

Minneapolis Sculpture Garden.

Hoffman Park in River Falls, WI. Beautiful city park with a campground, play structures and baseball field. Enjoyed a few games and adult beverages during our stay. Leinenkugel’s beer is made just down the road in Chippewa Falls, WI.

Gold Medal Flour building in Minneapolis. It now is the sight of the Mill City Museum.

Grocery shopping at Aldi in Hudson, WI. Cheap eggs and milk!

Amazing how much money we find laying on the ground in our travels.

Hanging out with friends playing cards is always fun. Especially when twos and jokers are wild and your hand is filled with them!

Wine tastes just fine when served in water bottles. Our wine glasses didn’t make the cut when downsizing to our 25 foot long motorhome so we have to improvise sometimes.

Canterbury Park in Shakopee, MN. Horse, camel, ostrich and zebra racing. Great family fun.

Made new tables for the RV. Turned out great!

Sunset in Minnesota.

Awaiting a boat tour of the Fox River in DePere, WI. Interesting that the river flows south to north and empties into Lake Michigan.
